Alan is passionate about accelerating profitable growth, driving innovations, and leading business transformations for private equity portfolio companies, building upon his experience as CMO and general manager for leading global B2B firms across healthcare IT, medical and dental devices, technology, and financial and professional services. He was also an adjunct professor at Emerson College’s Marketing Communications graduate school and an expert witness in major healthcare litigation.
Alan is currently Interim CMO (nThrive, a $230M revenue cycle management Health IT firm) and CMO executive advisor (Precisely, a $800M data quality and software firm) in the Clearlake Capital Private Equity portfolio.
Alan spent 6 years at SiriusDecisions and Forrester as a CMO Executive Advisor, helping global Healthcare and High-tech Chief Marketing Officers and sales and product leaders to drive positive organizational change, improve cross-functional alignment, benchmark peers, and mobilize deployment of new marketing methods to accelerate innovation and growth. He was also responsible for SiriusDecisions healthcare segments globally, transforming healthcare to their fastest growth and best client retention segment.
Prior to SiriusDecisions, he was SVP, CMO at Biscom, an enterprise software Healthcare IT and technology enterprise software and SaaS firm; VP, marketing and customer operations at Straumann, the Swiss global leader in dental implants, regenerative medicine and digital dentistry; Executive VP and CMO for Independent Health, a $1.5 billion health plan; VP of marketing at GE Healthcare Financial Services; and VP, General Manager of Lifeline System’s Senior Living Division (acquired by Philips). His earlier roles were with Xerox and Panasonic.
Alan holds a master’s degree in corporate finance and investment management from Drexel University, magna cum laude.
